The Pentagon has not disclosed specific details about the nature or severity of the injuries, which include Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and smoke inhalation.

The injured soldiers have been evacuated to separate locations for further assessment and evaluation. As of Tuesday, three of the eight soldiers have returned to service, while the remaining five are hospitalized and under observation. The Pentagon has stated that none of the injuries are life-threatening, although this does not rule out the possibility of long-term or temporary impairments.

The attack occurred on Saturday night at the US occupation base in Syria's al-Hasakah governorate. An explosive-laden unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was reportedly used in the assault, but no group has claimed responsibility for the strike.

Recent weeks have seen a surge in attacks on US bases in the region, following heightened tensions due to Israeli and US military actions in Lebanon, Iran, and Iraq. The increase in attacks, attributed largely to the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, coincides with ongoing Israeli operations in Gaza. The Iraqi Resistance views US bases as legitimate targets in their support for the Palestinian cause and in response to US complicity in regional instability. (ILKHA)
