Yahya Al-Sayani, head of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, stated that the reopening was made possible through an agreement with the Yemeni Airlines Company to restore and rehabilitate the company’s capabilities. He noted that the pressure from international powers continues to hinder the opening of new flight routes through Sanaa International Airport.

Khalil Jahaf, Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yemen Airways in Sanaa, explained that efforts are underway to restore the maintenance center to its former status as a regional hub, which it had maintained before the conflict began.

Khaled Al-Shayef, Director of Sanaa International Airport, emphasized that the maintenance center was previously a key regional facility, providing services for both local and international aircraft. He highlighted that the center was forced to cease operations on the first day of the conflict, leading to the outsourcing of aircraft maintenance to facilities abroad.

The reopening of the maintenance center is seen as a significant step in restoring the operational capabilities of Sanaa International Airport, despite the ongoing challenges posed by the conflict. (ILKHA)
