Turkish Defense Ministry: 17 PKK members killed in northern Iraq
The Turkish Defense Ministry announced on Monday that 17 PKK militants were killed in an airstrike conducted within the scope of Operation Claw-Lock in northern Iraq.
In a statement released on Monday, the ministry emphasized the ongoing commitment of the Turkish Armed Forces to secure the nation’s borders and maintain peace in the region.
"With a successful air operation in the Claw-Lock region, 17 more PKK terrorists were neutralized. For our martyrs, for our nation, for our beloved homeland, we will continue to fight with all our strength without stopping or getting tired! Terrorists will not escape the end that awaits them!" the statement read.
The Turkish military has been conducting cross-border operations in northern Iraq for several years, targeting PKK bases and disrupting the group's supply lines. Türkiye considers the PKK to be a terrorist organization and blames it for decades of violence within its borders. (ILKHA)
