Iranian official warns of severe response to Israel's war crimes
Ali Shamkhani, political advisor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, announced that preparations for a strong response to Israel's violation of Iranian territorial integrity have been made.
The statement follows the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the political bureau chief of Hamas, and one of his bodyguards in Tehran on August 31.
In a post on X, Shamkhani condemned the Zionist regime's recent massacre of Palestinian civilians, including the deadly airstrike on Tabeen School in Gaza that killed over 100 people during morning prayers. He accused Israel of warmongering and attempting to derail truce talks through these actions.
Shamkhani emphasized that Iran has laid the groundwork for a severe punishment against Israel, stating that legal, diplomatic, and media efforts have been set in motion to ensure that Israel, "a regime that only understands the language of force," is held accountable. The airstrike also injured dozens of others who had taken refuge in the school, further escalating tensions in the region. (ILKHA)
