US base in Syria hit by drone attack amidst rising tensions
A US-controlled airbase in Syria’s northeastern al-Hasakah province was targeted in a drone attack early Saturday morning, resulting in multiple explosions.

While there have been no reports of casualties, the extent of the damage remains unclear.
The attack comes amid heightened tensions in the region, with the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) imposing a siege on Syrian government-controlled areas in al-Hasakah and Qamishli. This escalation follows a recent attack on SDF positions in Deir Ezzor by Arab tribes.
The SDF’s blockade has led to restrictions on movement and essential supplies, raising concerns of a humanitarian crisis. The group has also detained Syrian army personnel.
Meanwhile, the US military continues to reinforce its presence in al-Hasakah, deploying additional troops and equipment. This comes as the Israeli regime has escalated its aggression in the region, targeting Resistance leaders and carrying out airstrikes in Yemen.
Russia has reportedly initiated mediation efforts to de-escalate the situation and end the SDF-imposed siege. (ILKHA)
