32 civilians killed in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza schools and homes
At least 32 civilians were killed in a series of Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on Thursday.
The strikes targeted two schools in Gaza City and several homes in Khan Younis and the central Gaza Strip, according to local and medical sources.
In Gaza City, Israeli warplanes struck the Abdul Fattah Hamoud School and the Al-Zahra School, which were serving as shelters for displaced families. The attacks resulted in the deaths of at least 15 people, including children, and caused numerous injuries. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that the injured, including several in critical condition, were transported to the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital.
Simultaneous airstrikes targeted homes in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza and in Qarara, Khan Younis. Rescue workers recovered eight bodies from the Bureij refugee camp and six more from a house east of Qarara. Additionally, three more individuals were killed in an airstrike on civilians in the Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.
The ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, has resulted in 39,699 documented Palestinian fatalities and 91,722 injuries, with thousands of victims still trapped under rubble.
