Turkish Coast Guard rescues migrants off Aegean coast
The Turkish Coast Guard has conducted a successful rescue operation off the Aegean coast in the Datça district.
The operation involved the rescue of ten irregular migrants who had been pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek coast guard elements. The migrants were found on a life raft and brought to safety.
In a separate incident, a rubber boat carrying 20 irregular migrants experienced engine trouble near the Datça coast. The Coast Guard promptly intervened, rescuing all the migrants onboard. Additionally, one individual suspected of being a migrant smuggler was detained during the operation.
