Speaking at the Human Rights Training Program organized by the AK Party Human Rights Presidency, Yerlikaya detailed the current migrant situation in Turkey. He stated that among the 4.4 million migrants, 3.103 million are Syrians under temporary protection, 1.109 million hold residence permits, and 224,000 are under international protection.

Yerlikaya also noted that globally, there are 300 million migrants, with 123 million forcibly displaced and 47 million under protection, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

He added that over 4 million individuals attempting to migrate to Turkey were halted on their way to the country.

To address irregular migration, Turkey has deployed mobile migration point vehicles in all 81 provinces. These vehicles have facilitated nearly 1.2 million inquiries, leading to the detection of 126,766 irregular migrants.

Additionally, 22,987 irregular migrants have been deported through 121 special flights. (ILKHA)
