Flash floods kill at least 10 in southern Afghanistan
At least ten people have lost their lives and three others are missing after flash floods ravaged southern Afghanistan's Zabul province on Sunday night.
The severe flooding affected most parts of Shinkay District and the provincial capital, Qalat city. Among the victims, a woman and three children were identified. Additionally, one person sustained injuries due to the disaster.
Zabihullah Jawhar, a spokesperson for the provincial police, reported significant property damage caused by the floods, including destroyed farmland, homes, and livestock.
This latest tragedy follows a similar pattern of deadly storms and floods that struck the eastern Nangarhar province in July, resulting in over 40 fatalities and over 350 injuries. (ILKHA)
