Turkish Coast Guard rescues 75 irregular migrants Off Muğla coast
The Turkish Coast Guard successfully rescued 75 irregular migrants off the coast of Muğla, according to a statement from the Coast Guard Command.
The rescue operation began after a report was received about two rubber boats drifting off the coast of Datça district due to engine failure. Upon receiving the alert, coast guard teams were promptly dispatched to the area. They managed to rescue 61 irregular migrants, including 13 children, from the distressed rubber boats and safely brought them ashore.
In a separate incident, the coast guard teams detected another group of irregular migrants in a rubber boat off the coast of Bodrum district. They intercepted 14 irregular migrants, including one child.
After completing the necessary procedures, all 75 irregular migrants, including 14 children, were transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for further processing. The Turkish Coast Guard continues to monitor and respond to incidents involving irregular migration along the country's coastline. (ILKHA)
