Ten individuals have now been apprehended in connection with the Sunderland riot, facing charges such as violent disorder and burglary.

The far-right demonstrations are believed to have been fueled in part by misinformation circulating on social media about the fatal stabbing of three children in Southport earlier this week. The incident has sparked widespread condemnation from politicians across the political spectrum.
