Far-right marches turn violent across United Kingdom
Hundreds of far-right activists have taken to the streets across the United Kingdom in a series of protests that have erupted into violence.
The demonstrations, which began on Saturday in cities including Manchester, Stoke, and Belfast, have seen clashes with both police and counter-protesters.
The unrest follows a night of "unforgivable" violence in Sunderland on Friday, where a far-right mob torched a police station. Eight people were arrested, and three police officers were injured. A mosque was also targeted by the rioters.
Ten individuals have now been apprehended in connection with the Sunderland riot, facing charges such as violent disorder and burglary.
The far-right demonstrations are believed to have been fueled in part by misinformation circulating on social media about the fatal stabbing of three children in Southport earlier this week. The incident has sparked widespread condemnation from politicians across the political spectrum.
Authorities are working to contain the escalating situation as the country grapples with the aftermath of the violent protests. (ILKHA)
