Iranian President warns Israel against war with Lebanon

This warning comes amidst escalating tensions, with Israel threatening to "tear Lebanon apart" in response to a recent missile attack on occupied territories, which it attributes to the Hezbollah Resistance movement. Israel has also claimed that the weapon was Iranian-made.

The missile struck a football field in the occupied Golan Heights, resulting in the deaths of 12 people, mostly children. While Israel initially blamed Hezbollah for the attack, the movement has denied responsibility. Eyewitnesses have reported that the incident was caused by a misfired Iron Dome interceptor missile.

The football field was located in Majdal Shams, a predominantly Druze town. Israel’s military spokesperson, Daniel Hagari, initially identified the victims as "Israeli citizens," but later revealed to reporters, unaware that his microphone was still on, that the deceased were not Israeli citizens.

Some analysts suggest that Israel's actions may be aimed at inciting the large Druze community in Lebanon, Syria, and Palestinian territories against Resistance forces, a tactic that appears to have failed.

During the Monday call, President Pezeshkian also highlighted the dire humanitarian conditions in the besieged Gaza Strip. He noted that nearly 40,000 people have been killed by Israeli fire over the past 10 months, and the remaining population is struggling to survive amid a man-made famine and the destruction of infrastructure.

"Iran will not spare any efforts to help resolve the crisis in Gaza and establish peace and stability in the region," Pezeshkian affirmed. (ILKHA)
