Iran seizes oil tanker carrying smuggled diesel fuel
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has seized a Togo-flagged oil tanker 90 kilometers off the coast of Bushehr.
The incident occurred on Sunday, 61 nautical miles southwest of Iran’s port of Bushehr, according to an IRGC announcement.
The seized vessel was carrying 1.5 million liters of diesel fuel, which was being illegally transported through Iranian waters. The vessel's crew consists of 12 foreign nationals.
"The seizure of this vessel was done according to the judicial order,” an IRGC spokesperson stated.
Further details on the crew and the destination of the smuggled fuel have not been disclosed. (ILKHA)
