Magnitude-5.3 earthquake strikes off coast of Crete
A magnitude-5.3 offshore earthquake struck the Mediterranean Sea near the Crete Region at approximately 07:01 on Sunday morning.
The epicenter was located about 31 km (19 miles) southwest of Chania, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
The earthquake occurred at a depth of around 31 km (19 miles), causing light shaking to be felt throughout parts of the Crete Region.
As of now, there have been no initial reports of damage or casualties. Local authorities are continuing to monitor the situation and assess any potential impacts. (ILKHA)
