The Movement emphasized that the ruling exposes the "fascist settlement system," calls for its cessation, and highlights the widespread violations of international law by various Israeli governments against the Palestinian people and their land.

Hamas stated that this decision, along with the ICJ’s call for the United Nations and the Security Council to consider measures to end the occupation, necessitates immediate international action. The Movement urged the global community to translate the ICJ's decisions into concrete steps, especially in light of what it describes as the ongoing genocide in Gaza, the dangerous expansion of settlements in the West Bank, and the aggressive Judaization efforts in Jerusalem and at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The ICJ's landmark opinion, issued earlier on Friday, declared that Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories is against international law. The court asserted that Israel must cease its settlement activities in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem and end its illegal occupation of these areas, including the Gaza Strip, as soon as possible.
