Türkiye urges global action after ICJ confirms Israeli occupation
The Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a press release on July 19 regarding the International Court of Justice's (ICJ) Advisory Opinion, which legally confirms that Israel is pursuing a policy of occupation and persecution against the Palestinian people.
In the statement, the ministry highlighted that the ICJ has determined Israel must immediately cease its presence in Palestinian territories and make reparations for the damage caused.
"The international community is obliged to take a firm and resolute stance to put an end to Israel's illegal practices," the ministry stated. It further emphasized Türkiye's support for the ICJ process through written and oral contributions to the advisory opinion.
Türkiye also reiterated its commitment to ensuring that crimes against Palestinians, including the current genocidal acts in Gaza, do not go unpunished. The ministry's statement calls for global action to address and end these illegal practices. (ILKHA)
