Turkish Statistical Institute reveals significant regional labor disparities for 2023
Türkiye's unemployment rate stood at 9.4% in 2023, according to figures released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) on Thursday.
The data revealed a stark disparity across the country, with Hakkari province grappling with the highest unemployment rate at 23.3%. In contrast, Sinop boasted the lowest jobless figure at 4.8%.
On a positive note, Ardahan province recorded the highest employment rate at 58.2%, while Siirt had the lowest at 35.5%. Ardahan also led in labor force participation with a rate of 61.7%, compared to Siirt's 38.5%.
Nationwide, the employment rate was calculated at 48.3% and the labor force participation rate at 53.3%.
