Azerbaijan reopens embassy in Iran at new location
Azerbaijan's embassy in Iran officially reopened its doors on Monday at a new location in Tehran, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry announced.
The embassy's closure followed an armed attack on the building in January 2023 that killed one Azerbaijani security official and injured two staff members. Following negotiations between the two countries, Iran implemented security measures around the new embassy building as outlined by the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry is currently working to establish consular services at the new embassy. They will announce the resumption of consular services at a later date.
The new embassy is located at house number 8, on the intersection of Yarmohammadi Street, Saqi Street, and Firuzkuh Street, along Shahrizad Avenue in Tehran. (ILKHA)
