Rescue efforts are ongoing for over 100 people believed to be trapped in the rubble.

The incident occurred at the Saints Academy college in Plateau state's Busa Buji community, shortly after students arrived for classes. Many of the victims are reported to be 15 years old or younger.

Plateau police spokesperson Alfred Alabo stated that 154 students were initially trapped but later confirmed 132 have been rescued and are receiving medical treatment at various hospitals.

This tragedy comes as local media reports initially suggested a lower death toll of at least 12. The official number of fatalities is expected to rise as rescue efforts continue. (ILKHA)
