Türkiye sees monthly rise of 0.7% in paid employees across key sectors
The Turkish Statistical Institute announced on Friday that the number of paid employees in Türkiye saw an annual increase of 4.3% in May 2024 compared to the same period last year.

According to the statement, which includes data from the industry, construction, and trade-services sectors, the total number of paid employees rose to 15,669,792 in May 2024 from 15,030,866 in May of the previous year.
Breaking down the sectors, the industrial sector saw a modest increase of 0.6%, while the construction sector experienced a significant rise of 11.1%. The trade-services sector also recorded a notable increase of 5.1% annually.
On a monthly basis, the number of paid employees in Türkiye increased by 0.7% in May 2024 compared to April 2024. Specifically, the industrial sector showed a 0.5% increase, the construction sector saw a 0.9% rise, and the trade-services sector reported a 0.7% increase.
The data indicates a positive trend in employment figures across key sectors, reflecting ongoing economic activity and growth in Türkiye. (ILKHA)
