Lenarčič expressed grave concern over the Israeli bombing that has severely hindered the distribution of aid within the Gaza Strip.

"The EU urgently calls for a ceasefire in Gaza to facilitate the delivery of essential humanitarian aid," Lenarčič emphasized. He stressed that aid must not only be allowed to enter Gaza but also reach all those in need across the entire region.

Highlighting the challenges faced, Lenarčič noted, "The primary issue is the inadequacy of humanitarian aid. Additionally, the ongoing Israeli airstrikes pose a significant security threat, preventing aid from being safely distributed even upon arrival at the Gaza border."

The Commissioner reiterated the EU's commitment to addressing the escalating crisis in Gaza and ensuring that humanitarian assistance reaches those most affected by the conflict. (ILKHA)
