4.4 magnitude earthquake strikes Afyonkarahisar, Türkiye
A 4.4 magnitude earthquake hit Afyonkarahisar early Thursday morning at 6:24 AM local time, according to the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD).
The earthquake's epicenter was recorded at a depth of 6.99 kilometers, AFAD said.
In a statement on X, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said: “Following field inspections by AFAD and our related institutions, and after assessing the reports received by the 112 Emergency Call Center, there are currently no adverse conditions. I wish a speedy recovery to our citizens impacted by the earthquake. May God shield our country and nation from disasters.”
Authorities have confirmed that no significant damage or casualties have been reported following the earthquake. Emergency services remain on alert to respond to any potential aftershocks or related incidents. (ILKHA)
