Islamic Emirate rejects UN criticism of ministry policies
Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, has rebuffed criticism from the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) regarding the Ministry of Vice and Virtue.
In a statement issued, Mujahid defended the ministry's directives, asserting they are rooted in established Islamic principles. He criticized UNAMA for evaluating Afghanistan through a Western perspective, arguing that the country should be assessed within its Islamic framework.
Mujahid emphasized the Afghan people's strong Muslim identity and their sacrifices in establishing an Islamic system. He called for respect for Afghanistan's aspirations as an Islamic society amid ongoing scrutiny and external assessments. (ILKHA)
