Israeli journalist Barak Ravid reported on Wednesday that Israel is currently examining the response and is expected to provide its answer to the mediators soon.

A senior Israeli official described Hamas' response as constructive, suggesting that detailed negotiations on the remaining issues could potentially take place. However, the official also noted that while there has been important progress, significant challenges remain, and any detailed negotiations could be tough and lengthy, possibly taking several weeks to reach an agreement.

The Israeli negotiation team is set to hold discussions with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Security Minister Yoav Gallant in the coming days to formulate a policy regarding Hamas' response. This policy may involve traveling to Qatar or Egypt for more detailed discussions.

Despite the progress, the official cautioned that there is still a substantial way to go before a final agreement can be reached. The official highlighted that Hamas' response addresses key issues central to the dispute and may pave the way for further negotiations.

In a related development, Qatar has suggested new potential amendments to Hamas regarding the proposed hostage deal, adding to the evolving dynamics of the negotiations. Meanwhile, the Biden administration is reportedly revising language in the ceasefire agreement to address the differing priorities of Israel and Hamas. (ILKHA)
