Turkish Coast Guard rescues migrants pushed back by Greece
The Turkish Coast Guard rescued 20 irregular migrants on Friday after they were found in a life raft pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements off the coast of the Marmaris district in Muğla province.
The Coast Guard Command dispatched teams upon receiving a notification. The migrants were safely retrieved from the life raft and taken to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management after completing necessary procedures.
This incident highlights ongoing tensions in the Aegean Sea regarding migration. Türkiye has previously accused Greece of pushing back migrants attempting to reach European shores. (ILKHA)
