Iran's nuclear electricity production rises to 6.6 TWh in 2023
Iran produced 6.6 terawatt-hours (TWh) of nuclear electricity in 2023, ranking it 30th globally in nuclear energy production, according to the ‘Statistical Review of World Energy’.

This marks a 1% increase in nuclear electricity output compared to 2022. Under the administration of the late President Ebrahim Raeisi, Iran’s nuclear electricity production grew by approximately 5%.
Iran is among the 33 countries worldwide that generated nuclear electricity in 2023. The total global nuclear electricity production for the year was 2,737 TWh, reflecting a 2.2% increase from the previous year.
This achievement underscores Iran’s significant strides in nuclear energy, positioning it within a select group of nations capable of generating nuclear power. (ILKHA)
