Al-Qassam Brigades target Israeli armored vehicle in Rafah with ATGM
The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, reported the successful targeting of an Israeli armored vehicle in Rafah with an anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) on Sunday.
Palestinian resistance fighters engaged Israeli occupation forces on multiple fronts across the Gaza Strip, with intense fighting reported in southern Rafah. Al-Qassam's Military Media Unit confirmed the firing of an ATGM at an Israeli armored vehicle, identified as the Ofek, in the Tal Za'arab area of southern Rafah. The vehicle reportedly caught fire after being hit by the missile.
Following the strike, an Israeli military rescue force was dispatched to the area. In response, Al-Qassam fighters launched a barrage of Rajoum 114 mm rocket artillery shells at the rescuers. Concurrently, heavy shelling targeted Israeli positions around Rafah and along the Netzarim Axis.
Al-Qassam mortar units, in collaboration with Al-Quds Brigades fighters, bombarded Israeli forces in southern Rafah with mortar shells. Additional shelling operations were carried out against Israeli positions in the Tell al-Sultan neighborhood in southwest Rafah. The Al-Quds Brigades also launched rockets at Israeli soldiers in the Netzarim Axis, a strategic route dividing northern Gaza from the rest of the besieged territory.
In a combined effort, Al-Quds Brigades, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, and Al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades targeted the Israeli Kisufim military site with mortars. Al-Mujahideen Brigades also fired several barrages of rockets at the Netzarim Axis, demonstrating the unified resistance against the Israeli military incursion.
The Palestinian resistance's steadfastness continues as they employ various tactics to counter the relentless Israeli invasion, which has persisted for 262 days. Since the aggression began on October 7, 2023, over 37,598 Palestinians have been killed, with 86,032 others injured. The ongoing conflict has left thousands of victims buried under rubble or scattered on the roads due to the severe insecurity and lack of equipment. (ILKHA)
