The ministry also noted that at least 85,523 people have been injured.

In the last 24 hours alone, Israeli forces have killed 24 people and injured 71 others in five separate attacks targeting families, according to the Health Ministry.

The statement highlighted the ongoing humanitarian crisis, with many individuals still trapped under rubble and on roads that rescuers cannot access.

Despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire, Israel has continued its offensive, drawing widespread international condemnation. The conflict began on October 7, 2023, following the Operation Aqsa Flood by Hamas, and has since left vast areas of Gaza in ruins amidst a severe blockade restricting access to food, clean water, and medicine.

The International Court of Justice has accused Israel of genocide and issued a ruling ordering Tel Aviv to halt its operations in Rafah. Over a million Palestinians had sought refuge in Rafah before it was invaded on May 6.

The situation in Gaza remains dire as the conflict continues, with no immediate end in sight and humanitarian conditions worsening by the day. (ILKHA)
