Gaza genocide: Israeli assaults continue, civilian deaths mount
On the 257th day of ongoing genocide, Israeli forces continued their aggressive campaign targeting multiple locations across the Gaza Strip, exacerbating civilian casualties and destruction.
In the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, Israeli bombardment concentrated heavily on the northern area overnight, utilizing quadcopters and artillery. Simultaneously, Israeli warboats and military vehicles targeted the camp's beachfront, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
Further south, in Rafah, Israeli forces attacked displaced Palestinians' tents in the al-Mawasi area. They also launched airstrikes on residential neighborhoods like Saudi and Tal al-Sultan, while artillery fire pounded the westernmost al-Shaboura camp.
In the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City, Israeli airstrikes demolished a house belonging to the Abu Safiyeh family, resulting in the tragic loss of at least six lives. Civil defense teams worked urgently to recover bodies and assist the injured.
The violence also spread to the eastern part of al-Qarara town in northernmost Khan Younis, where Israeli attacks were reported.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza issued a grim update, reporting a toll of 37,372 Palestinians killed and 85,452 injured since the escalation began on October 7, 2023.
The relentless Israeli assaults have drawn condemnation internationally for their devastating impact on civilians and infrastructure in the densely populated Gaza Strip. Diplomatic efforts to negotiate a ceasefire remain ongoing amid escalating tensions and humanitarian concerns. (ILKHA)
