At least four dead, 120 injured as 5.0 magnitude earthquake strikes northeastern Iran
A 5.0 magnitude earthquake struck Kashmar in Iran's northeastern Razavi Khorasan province around noon on Tuesday, resulting in four fatalities and injuring 120 people, with 35 hospitalized, according to local officials.
The earthquake's epicenter was located approximately five kilometers from Moghan, Razavi Khorasan Province, as reported by the US Geological Survey. Local Iranian media confirmed the magnitude at 5.0 and recorded the quake's depth at six kilometers.
Hojjatollah Shariatmadari, the Governor of Kashmar, provided updates on the casualties and injuries, noting that rescue and relief efforts were underway in the affected areas. (ILKHA)
