The declaration urges "an immediate, permanent and unconditional ceasefire, the cessation of the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people in Gaza, and the immediate implementation of the relevant UN Resolutions."

Furthermore, the D-8 council has called upon other nations to pressure Israel to comply with the measures ordered by the International Court of Justice, emphasizing that the "brutal Israeli aggression" must cease to allow aid to reach those in need.

In a statement, the council underscored the importance of halting the supply of weapons and ammunition to Israel, which are used by its army and extremist settlers to harm Palestinians and destroy their infrastructure.

The D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, comprised of Turkey, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, and Pakistan, convened the meeting to address pressing international issues, including the Palestinian bid for UN membership.

At the opening of the meeting, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan called on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to grant Palestine full UN membership and urged the council to break free from US influence.

Fidan also accused the Israeli occupation of Gaza of violating numerous international laws and committing war crimes since the start of the conflict on October 7.

Established officially through the Istanbul Declaration of Summit of Heads of State/Government on June 15, 1997, the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation aims to enhance member states’ positions in the global economy and improve standards of living through economic cooperation and trade relations.
