Death toll rises to 80 following Israeli massacre in Nuseirat Refugee Camp
The death toll from a horrific massacre committed by Israeli occupation forces in the Nuseirat Refugee Camp in central Gaza has risen to approximately 80, with dozens more injured, mostly civilians, according to medical reports.
Local health authorities reported that nearly 80 citizens, the majority of whom were children and women, were killed in the intense bombardment by Israeli forces from land, sea, and air. The unprecedented aggression targeted the central governorate of Gaza, particularly the Nuseirat refugee camp, for over two hours.
In addition to Nuseirat, Israeli airstrikes targeted the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, as well as locations in Al-Maghazi and Bureij refugee camps, and the town of Zawayda, all situated in central Gaza. These attacks have further strained the already dire situation in the region.
Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, the only hospital in the region, is struggling to cope with the influx of casualties. The facility faces severe shortages of medications, medical supplies, and fuel. The main generator has shut down due to the relentless and indiscriminate shelling, exacerbating the crisis.
This latest massacre highlights the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where medical facilities are overwhelmed, and essential supplies are dwindling. The international community has called for an immediate end to the violence and for urgent assistance to support the besieged population of Gaza.
The attack on Nuseirat refugee camp and the surrounding areas has drawn widespread condemnation and calls for accountability for the continued targeting of civilians in Israeli aggression. (ILKHA)
