Turkish authorities seize 373 kg of cocaine in Bursa
Turkish authorities dealt a significant blow to drug trafficking in a successful operation codenamed "Narco-Steel-20."
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on social media the seizure of a staggering 373 kilograms of cocaine and the apprehension of 9 suspects in Bursa.
Acting on intelligence reports, Istanbul Police tipped off authorities about a drug organization attempting to smuggle cocaine from South America into Turkey through a container hidden in Bursa's Gemlik port.
The Istanbul Intelligence Branch and Bursa Narcotic Branch Office, coordinated by the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Turkish National Police Directorate General Directorate of Anti-Narcotic Crimes, executed the meticulously planned operation.
Yerlikaya hailed the success of Narco-Steel-20, emphasizing the unwavering commitment of Turkish authorities to eradicate drug trafficking in the country.
“I want our beloved nation to know that we are determined to clean our country from poison dealers. Our operations against poison dealers all over our country will continue to increase,” Yerlikaya said. (ILKHA)
