Scores killed in Israeli airstrikes targeting residential areas in Gaza
A series of Israeli airstrikes in the central Gaza Strip early this morning resulted in numerous civilian casualties, further exacerbating the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.
According to local sources, Israeli occupation forces targeted residential areas in the Al-Bureij refugee camp, leading to multiple deaths and injuries. The strikes struck a residential home in the camp, causing the bodies of the victims to arrive in pieces at the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in neighboring Deir al-Balah.
Among the casualties, at least eight civilians were confirmed killed, including two children and three women, when an Israeli airstrike hit a house belonging to the Al-Sous family in Al-Bureij. Additionally, at least four more casualties were reported as Israeli fighter jets bombed another house owned by the Al-Hour family in the same camp.
The airstrikes also inflicted injuries and caused fires in a residence in Block 9 of the Al-Bureij camp, spreading panic and devastation among residents.
Further casualties occurred when Israeli warplanes targeted a house in the nearby Nusseirat refugee camp, adding to the mounting toll of civilian deaths and injuries.
The Palestinian death toll resulting from Israel's relentless aggression against the Gaza Strip since October 7th, 2023, has surged to at least 36,224, with thousands more feared dead beneath the rubble, according to local health authorities. (ILKHA)
