Turkish economic confidence slips slightly in May
Türkiye’s Economic Confidence Index fell by 0.8% in May, reaching 98.2, down from 99.0 in April, according to recent data.
This slight decline comes despite a 0.1% uptick in consumer confidence, which reached 80.51 in May. However, other sectors saw confidence levels wane.
The real sector (manufacturing) confidence index dropped 1.1% to 102.4, while the retail trade confidence index fell more sharply by 3.3% to 111.7.
The services sector remained stable with a confidence index of 117.1, while construction confidence dipped slightly by 0.3% to 88.3. (ILKHA)
