Rafah's healthcare system crumbles as Israeli incursion continues
The Health Ministry has reported that all hospitals in the Rafah Governorate, located in the southern Gaza Strip, are out of service due to ongoing Israeli military actions.
Medical sources confirmed that only Tal Al-Sultan Maternity Hospital remains operational but is struggling to continue providing care.
The continued Israeli incursion and targeted attacks on medical facilities have led to the closure of six hospitals: Abu Youssef Al-Najjar Hospital, Abu Al-Walid Central Clinic, Rafah Field Hospital (2), Kuwait Specialized Hospital, Indonesian Field Hospital, and Tal Al-Sultan Clinic.
These attacks have caused significant damage to the healthcare infrastructure, resulted in the deaths of healthcare personnel, and hindered citizens' access to medical care. The Ministry emphasized the severe impact on the health system and the increased difficulty for patients needing urgent medical attention.
The UN and other international organizations had previously warned about the potential targeting of the health system and medical staff in Gaza. These developments underscore the critical humanitarian crisis unfolding in the region. (ILKHA)
