Holding torches aloft, they marched through the streets, denouncing the Israeli occupation regime and expressing unwavering support for Gaza and HAMAS.

The event, organized under the banner "Light a Torch for Rafah," aimed to raise awareness about the recent massacre perpetrated by the Israeli regime in Gaza. Last night's tragedy in Rafah further fueled the urgency of the gathering.

The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, setting a solemn tone. Ömer Derin, one of the speakers, addressed the crowd, emphasizing the plight of those affected by the conflict. "Those who are orphaned, struggling with hunger and poverty in Gaza," he declared, "are not only a test for Muslims but for all of humanity."

He shared poignant stories of Palestinian parents saying farewell to their children, underscoring the desperation felt by those in Gaza.

"Gaza has exposed the world of oppressors," Derin asserted. He criticized international bodies, including the United Nations, for their failure to protect innocent civilians. "Democracies, human rights advocates, and justice proponents," he said, "stand idly by as children are bombed while seeking a morsel of bread. Their silence is damning."

The event concluded with prayers and a funeral prayer in absentia for all the martyrs, with a special mention of Jerusalem's own Hasan Saklanan.

The torches burned brightly that night, symbolizing hope and resilience in the face of adversity. As the crowd dispersed, their collective voice echoed: "We stand with Gaza." (ILKHA)
