Turkish security council to discuss key regional issues in upcoming meeting
Türkiye's National Security Council (MGK), under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is scheduled to meet on Tuesday at the Presidential Complex in Ankara.
The meeting is expected to address several critical regional and international issues.
Among the key topics on the agenda are Türkiye's ongoing cross-border military operations against PKK/YPG in Syria and Iraq, and the Zionist aggression in Gaza. The council will discuss diplomatic steps to halt the Israeli occupation in Gaza and ensure the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to the region.
The meeting will also address Türkiye's decision to support South Africa's genocide lawsuit against Israel at the International Court of Justice. The recent recognition of Palestine as a state by Spain, Ireland, and Norway will also be a significant point of discussion.
Additionally, the council will cover other regional and international issues such as the Russia-Ukraine War, the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, developments in Iran, and bilateral relations with Greece.
The upcoming meeting underscores Türkiye's active role in addressing regional conflicts and its commitment to finding diplomatic solutions to these issues. The outcomes of this meeting could have significant implications for the geopolitical landscape in the region. (ILKHA)
