Fidan conveyed this message at the International Partners Meeting in Brussels, where discussions centered on the implementation of the two-state solution and the recognition of Palestine.

The first meeting brought together countries and institutions that provide aid to Palestine. Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa outlined his government's priorities and plans, drawing attention to their expectations from international partners.

The second meeting focused on initiatives for the establishment of the State of Palestine based on a two-state solution and efforts towards a political resolution to the Israel-Palestine issue.

Fidan highlighted Israel's tactic of freezing Palestinian revenues as a means to exert pressure on the Palestinian Authority. He stressed the need for sustainable financing for the governing body.

Under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's fundamentalist government, Fidan noted, Israel is determined to carry out plans to eliminate and eradicate Palestinians at all costs. He warned that this ruthless plan of destruction is advancing from Gaza to the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Acknowledging the efforts made for Palestine since the Oslo Accords, Fidan emphasized that without a different approach, no different outcome can be expected. He pointed out that the international community has preferred to refer to Palestine not as a "government" but as an "authority" since Oslo, indicating an imbalance that perpetuates the Israeli occupation.

Fidan stressed the need for Palestine to operate as a fully-fledged state with its own institutions to overcome these challenges. He also emphasized the importance of increasing efforts to get more countries to recognize the state of Palestine, stating that Israelis should not be expected to negotiate with Palestinians for recognition.

Fidan concluded by reiterating that postponing recognition does not solve the problem but only grants Israel more time. (ILKHA)
