Russia offers support to Iran in helicopter crash investigation
Russia has extended its condolences and offered assistance to Iran following the helicopter crash that killed President Ebrahim Raisi and other high-ranking officials.
President Vladimir Putin described Raisi's death as a "big loss" and highlighted their positive working relationship. He praised Raisi's character, calling him a "reliable partner" and "a man of his word."
Putin pledged Russia's support in investigating the cause of the crash. "If our colleagues need this, we are ready to do our best to offer them expert support and assistance," he stated through the TASS news agency.
The Russian leader also requested the speaker of the State Duma convey his deepest sympathies to the victims' families.
This offer of assistance comes as Iran mourns its president and prepares for an early election on June 28th. (ILKHA)
