Brazil floods: Death toll rises to 158, 88 still missing
Heavy rains in Brazil's southern state of Rio Grande do Sul have caused devastating floods, leaving 158 dead and at least 88 missing.
Nearly two-thirds of the state’s 500 cities are affected, displacing hundreds of thousands of residents.
Disaster zones have been declared in many municipalities, and over one million properties are without electricity.
Volunteers are using canoes and kayaks to search for and rescue individuals and animals. Fundraising campaigns for food, clothing, and financial aid are underway.
The Civil Defense teams report that more than 2.3 million people have been affected, with 82,666 rescued from disaster areas. (ILKHA)
