Türkiye records over 196,000 road motor vehicle registrations in April

In April, motorcycles accounted for the largest share of new registrations at 54.3%, followed by cars at 32.9%, small trucks at 7.1%, tractors at 3.2%, trucks at 1.6%, minibuses at 0.5%, buses at 0.3%, and special purpose vehicles at 0.1%.

The number of vehicle registrations in April showed a 13.4% decrease compared to the previous month. Registrations of motorcycles increased by 3.4%, while registrations of special purpose vehicles decreased by 43.0%, buses by 40.7%, minibuses by 30.9%, small trucks by 29.1%, cars by 27.1%, tractors by 26.4%, and trucks by 23.2%.

Compared to the same month of the previous year, vehicle registrations increased by 9.4%. This included a significant rise in registrations for special purpose vehicles (58.5%), motorcycles (31.5%), and minibuses (23.8%). However, there were declines in registrations for buses (24.0%), small trucks (21.2%), trucks (20.5%), tractors (16.4%), and cars (4.5%).

At the end of April, the total number of road motor vehicles registered in Turkey reached 29,561,690. Cars made up 52.7% of this total, followed by motorcycles at 18.4%, small trucks at 15.4%, tractors at 7.5%, trucks at 3.3%, minibuses at 1.7%, buses at 0.7%, and special purpose vehicles at 0.3%.

In April, 801,439 road motor vehicles were transferred. Among these, cars accounted for 64.3%, followed by small trucks (14.9%), motorcycles (13.8%), tractors (2.9%), trucks (1.9%), minibuses (1.6%), buses (0.4%), and special purpose vehicles (0.2%).

In April, 64,694 new cars were registered. The distribution of brands for these new registrations was led by Renault (12.4%), followed by Fiat (10.1%), Chery (9.3%), Peugeot (6.4%), Volkswagen (5.8%), Citroen (5.7%), Hyundai (5.0%), Opel (4.9%), Toyota (4.3%), Ford (3.5%), Skoda (3.2%), Dacia (3.1%), Mercedes-Benz (3.0%), MG (3.0%), Honda (2.6%), Kia (2.0%), BMW (1.8%), Volvo (1.7%), Audi (1.6%), Nissan (1.6%), and other brands (9.0%).

From January to April, 830,019 road motor vehicles were registered, marking a 29.6% increase compared to the same period of the previous year. During this period, 8,682 vehicles were withdrawn from registration, resulting in a net increase of 821,337 vehicles.

Among the 343,585 cars registered in the January-April period, 65.3% were gasoline-fueled, 13.2% were hybrid, 12.8% were diesel-fueled, 7.5% were electric, and 1.2% were LPG-fueled. At the end of April, 35.1% of the 15,562,640 registered cars were diesel-fueled, 32.9% were LPG-fueled, 29.3% were gasoline-fueled, 1.7% were hybrid, and 0.7% were electric.

The most frequent engine size for cars registered in the January-April period was 1300 cc or less, accounting for 31.4% of new registrations. Other popular engine sizes included 1401-1500 cc (22.0%), 1301-1400 cc (18.6%), 1501-1600 cc (13.5%), 1601-2000 cc (6.3%), and 2001 cc and above (0.7%).

In terms of color, 39.3% of the cars registered in the January-April period were grey, 24.8% were white, 12.4% were black, 12.0% were blue, 6.3% were red, 2.7% were green, 1.1% were orange, 0.5% were purple, 0.4% were yellow, and 0.4% were other colors. (ILKHA)
