ICC seeks arrest warrants for israeli prime minister Netanyahu
The International Criminal Court (ICC) has requested arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on allegations of war crimes and crimes against humanity, ICC Prosecutor Karim A.A. Khan announced on Monday.
"Today, I am filing applications for warrants of arrest before Pre-Trial Chamber I of the International Criminal Court in the Situation in the State of Palestine," Khan stated.
The ICC prosecutor indicated that there are reasonable grounds to believe that Netanyahu bears criminal responsibility for war crimes. The request for arrest warrants also includes charges against Defense Minister Gallant.
Additionally, the ICC prosecutors have applied for arrest warrants for three leaders of Hamas.
This development marks a significant step in the ongoing legal proceedings regarding the Israeli genocide in Gaza, highlighting the ICC's commitment to addressing allegations of serious international crimes. (ILKHA)
