Turkish Coast Guard rescues over 130 migrants in Aegean Sea
The Turkish Coast Guard Command successfully rescued 133 irregular migrants, including 22 children, during an operation in the Aegean Sea.
Acting on intelligence reports of rubber boats carrying migrants in distress, Coast Guard teams were deployed off the coasts of Muğla, İzmir, and Aydın. The swift response ensured the safety of all 133 individuals.
In a separate development during the operation, Coast Guard officials apprehended 1 migrant smuggler alongside 17 irregular migrants off the coast of Muğla.
Following processing procedures, the migrants were transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management. (ILKHA)
