Turkish Coast Guard rescues 30 migrants off Izmir coast
Turkish Coast Guard teams successfully rescued 30 irregular migrants, including 14 children, off the coast of the Urla district in Izmir on Thursday.
Acting on a tip, the Coast Guard dispatched a boat to the area where the migrants were reportedly in life rafts.
The teams rescued all 30 migrants from the two life rafts. Turkish authorities allege the migrants were pushed back into Turkish waters by Greek forces.
Following rescue procedures, the migrants were transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management. (ILKHA)
