The event aims to draw attention to the ongoing genocide in Gaza, which has been carried out by the occupation regime for more than seven months.

The event, which began at noon today under the slogan 'Campus Intifada', includes a variety of activities such as singing hymns, marching and a press statement. The event is part of a series of programmes aimed at keeping the cause of Al-Aqsa Mosque on the agenda.

Mehmet Çakır, president of the Bilge Youth Club, emphasized the importance of the event, saying that its purpose was to shed light on the ongoing massacre in Gaza and calling on all university students to participate.

Çakır stated: "As it is known, we will hold an action here after Israel's relentless genocide since 7 October. There is no war, there is genocide. Life, education and health have come to a standstill. We are organizing a tent action to put an end to this as soon as possible".

Giving details of the event, Çakır said that Grup Yürüyüş will provide musical accompaniment today, while a march is planned for tomorrow after Friday prayers. The tent vigil will continue for two days, with the aim of amplifying their voices and calling on states and countries to respond to the ongoing persecution in Gaza.

"We hope that our voice will be heard louder and that states and countries will react. We want this persecution to end as soon as possible," added Çakır, urging students to participate in the event and show solidarity with the cause. (ILKHA)
