Turkish military says 47 PKK/YPG members neutralized in past week
The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that 47 members of the PKK, designated a terrorist organization by Türkiye, and the YPG, its Syrian affiliate, were "neutralized" in the last week.
A press briefing led by Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk revealed that this brings the total number of neutralized PKK/YPG members to 1,000 since the beginning of 2024. The term "neutralized" is used by the Turkish military to encompass militants who are killed, wounded or captured.
The Ministry also reported apprehending nearly 4,000 people attempting to cross the Turkish border illegally since the start of the year, with over 400 apprehended in the past week. Additionally, over 54,000 illegal border crossings were prevented so far in 2024. (ILKHA)
