Humanitarian group announces mass conversion to Islam in Chadian village
The Hope Caravan Humanitarian Relief Foundation says that a majority of villagers in Chad converted to Islam during a recent visit by their aid workers.
Cengiz Kurtaran, president of the organization, said the villagers in Niyago Village were previously Christian but have now converted to Islam, "the last religion, the perfect religion."
The group posted a video appearing to show villagers reciting the shahada, a declaration of faith in Islam, together with Hope Caravan officials.
Hope Caravan Foundation has also appealed to philanthropists for help building a mosque in the village. (ILKHA)
