Erdoğan affirms nation's role in setting political course
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in a meeting with the provincial heads of the AK Party, emphasized the guiding role of the nation in shaping the country's political course.
"Our nation has always set our course in politics. We have never deviated from the path set by our nation. We made our consultations with our nation,” he stated.
Erdoğan highlighted the party's principle of "my nation first, my country first," and expressed appreciation for every result that adds prestige to the ballot box, regardless of the party's votes. He sees these results as milestones in Türkiye's 75-year struggle for multi-party democracy.
The President noted the change in the general political atmosphere after March 31, attributing it to the mature stance of the AK Party and the People's Alliance. He also acknowledged the role of politicians' messages and increased public trust in political institutions in softening the political climate.
Expressing hope that this climate will become a permanent feature of Turkish politics, Erdoğan said, "We have maintained our sincerity and constructive attitude so far."
He reiterated the importance of the nation's guidance in politics, saying: "We told our problems to our nation. We sought solutions to our problems together with our nation. We shared the joy of our successes with our nation. We always found our nation by our side when we needed them." (ILKHA)
